Temperate Supply Update April 2017

By Daryl Turner

The favourable spring conditions from last year have led to above average harvest yields across most crop species. Persian clovers (Trifolium resupinatum) have been a standout with record yields reported. The annual clover harvest finally finished at the end of February, which was 3-4 weeks later than previous years and reflective of the late finish to the season.

The downside to this late finish is product supply has been impacted accordingly and the flow on effect has been felt at our cleaning and processing facilities. We have been able to manage the timely processing of our seed through the cleaning sheds by setting priority schedules, this has minimised any delays and will ensure timely seed delivery to our customers.
